Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about setting up and using Streamlinx for Discord stream notifications.

General

What is Streamlinx?

Streamlinx is a free Discord bot that sends instant notifications when your favorite streamers go live on Twitch, YouTube, or Kick. It includes a full web dashboard for managing streamers, customizing notification messages, and configuring advanced features like filter rules and analytics.

How do I add Streamlinx to my Discord server?

Visit the Streamlinx invite page and authorize the bot for your server. Once added, open the web dashboard to select your server and start adding streamers. No slash commands are required for setup.

What's the best free Discord bot for stream notifications?

Streamlinx has one of the most generous free tiers available: track up to 15 streamers across Twitch, YouTube, and Kick at no cost. Most competing bots limit free users to a single platform or fewer streamers. See our best Discord stream notification bots comparison guide for a detailed breakdown.

How much does Streamlinx cost?

Streamlinx is free for up to 15 streamers (5 per platform). Premium is $2.99/month and unlocks up to 360 streamers, custom webhooks, notification filter rules, quiet hours, live role configurations, and detailed analytics.

What slash commands does Streamlinx have?

Streamlinx provides /help, /summary, /streamer add, /streamer remove, /subscription, /upgrade, and /portal. However, the web portal is the primary interface for configuration. Most users only use slash commands for quick additions — the dashboard handles everything else.

Will I lose my configuration if I downgrade from Premium?

No. Your settings, templates, and streamer list are preserved when you downgrade. Premium features like filter rules, quiet hours, and analytics become inactive but are not deleted. Re-subscribing restores everything immediately.

Twitch

How fast are Twitch notifications?

Twitch notifications typically arrive within seconds of a stream going live, making Streamlinx one of the fastest Twitch notification bots available. See our Twitch setup guide for configuration details.

Can I get notified about Twitch clips?

Yes. Clip notifications are available on the free tier. When viewers create clips from a tracked streamer's broadcast, Streamlinx sends a notification to your Discord channel with the clip title, creator, and a direct link. See our Twitch clip notifications guide for setup instructions.

What happens when a Twitch stream ends?

You have full control over offline behavior. The original live notification can be edited with a VOD link, deleted, or left unchanged. You can also enable a standalone offline notification — a separate message posted when the stream ends with its own template.

Can I auto-assign a Discord role when members stream on Twitch?

Yes. Live roles automatically assign a Discord role when members start streaming on Twitch and remove it when they stop. The free tier includes 1 live role configuration with a whitelist. Premium unlocks up to 5 configurations with blacklist support. See our live roles guide for setup details.

YouTube

Can I get notified when a YouTuber uploads a new video?

Yes. Upload notifications are available on the free tier. Streamlinx detects new video uploads and sends a notification to your Discord channel with the video title, thumbnail, and a direct link. See our YouTube upload notifications guide for setup instructions.

Can I filter out YouTube Shorts from upload notifications?

Yes. Shorts filtering is enabled by default. Videos shorter than 60 seconds are automatically excluded from upload notifications. You can disable this filter in the streamer's content settings if you want to receive Shorts notifications.

How do I find a YouTube channel's @handle?

Visit the YouTube channel page. The @handle appears directly below the channel name (for example, @MrBeast). When adding a YouTube streamer in Streamlinx, enter the handle without the @ symbol.

Does Streamlinx detect YouTube Premieres?

Yes. YouTube Premieres are treated as live streams. When a creator starts a Premiere, Streamlinx sends a go-live notification to your configured channel.

Kick

Does Streamlinx support Kick?

Yes. The free tier includes 5 Kick streamers per server. Streamlinx monitors Kick streams and sends go-live and offline notifications to your Discord channels. See our Kick setup guide for configuration details.

How fast are Kick notifications?

Kick notifications typically arrive within seconds to a couple of minutes of a stream going live. Delivery speed depends on Kick's webhook infrastructure.

Can I track Kick, Twitch, and YouTube streamers in the same server?

Yes. Streamlinx is built for multi-platform tracking. You can add streamers from all three platforms in the same Discord server and route each one to a different channel if needed.

Features

Can I filter notifications by game or title?

Yes. Premium filter rules let you only receive notifications when a streamer plays specific games or uses certain title keywords. For example, you could configure a streamer to only notify when they play Valorant. See our notification filters guide for details.

Can I mute notifications during certain hours?

Yes. Premium quiet hours let you define a time window during which notifications are queued instead of sent. When the quiet period ends, you receive a summary of everything you missed. See our quiet hours guide for setup instructions.

What analytics does Streamlinx offer?

Free users get an overview with basic notification counts. Premium unlocks detailed analytics including activity heatmaps, streamer rankings, session duration tracking, viewer trends, and game distribution charts. See our stream analytics guide for a full walkthrough.

Can I use custom webhooks for notifications?

Yes. Premium users can configure custom Discord webhooks for notifications instead of using the bot's default posting method. This lets you customize the sender name and avatar for each streamer.

Can I route different notification types to different channels?

Yes. Each streamer has a content notification channel setting that lets you send clip and upload notifications to a different channel than go-live alerts. This is available on both free and premium tiers.

Troubleshooting

Do I need to keep the dashboard open for notifications to work?

No. Once you have added streamers, Streamlinx monitors them 24/7 in the background. The dashboard is only needed for setup and configuration changes.

What if a streamer changes their username?

Streamlinx tracks streamers by their platform account ID, not their username. If a streamer changes their display name, your notifications continue working without any action on your part.

Can I use Streamlinx alongside other Discord bots?

Yes. Streamlinx does not conflict with other Discord bots. It only sends messages in the channels you configure and does not interfere with other bot commands or permissions.

Do live roles work with YouTube or Kick?

No. Live roles only work with Twitch. This is a Discord platform limitation — the Discord Presence API only reports Twitch streaming activity. YouTube and Kick streaming status is not available through Discord's presence system.
